US Women's National Team
The U.S. Beach National Teams finished 2018 with two men’s and three women’s teams in the top 12 on the FIVB and ranked first in both genders of the NORCECA Beach Tour. USAV hired Tyler Hildebrand as its first beach national team director of coaching. The Olympic qualifying period officially started on September 1, 2018.
In FIVB World Tour 3-5 Star events, the U.S. women won 13 medals (4 gold, 2 silver and 7 Bronze) and the men 4 (3 gold and 1 bronze).
The U.S. finished the 2018 NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour ranked No 1 in both genders. In six events the U.S. women won four golds, two silvers and three bronzes, while the men finished with one gold, two silvers and two bronze medals.
April Ross and Alix Klineman were voted the USOC’s October Team of the Month.
Summer Ross was voted USAV Female Beach Player of the Year and Jake Gibb was USAV Male Beach Player of the Year. USAV hired Tyler Hildebrand as its first-ever fulltime director of coaching for the beach national team.
